Wood River Studio Tour

Photo by Karen Bossick – ‘Ginna WRV Studio Tour’

I was an inaugural participant in the annual Wood River Valley Studio Tours. In an inventory of professional artists in the Wood River Valley area (home to Sun Valley and surrounding towns of Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue) it was discovered that an average of between 100-150 artists ranging from emerging to nationally recognized talents live in the valley. The Studio Tour attracts people coming in from places like Seattle, Salt Lake City, Boise and elsewhere to visit the studios of about 50 participating artists.

Journalist Karen Bossick took this photo of me when she visited my studio. Also shown here are two views of my 8 inch square box art piece. Each participant of the Tour each year produces a work of art on one of these wooden boxes which are all shown together at a public space as a group. The public is invited to bid on them in a silent auction, over a period of a month or so, to raise funds for advertising for the Studio Tour.

I carved and painted each of the sides of my box and appliquéd a piece of one of my Giclee prints onto the front surface. G.P.L.
