For my dear friend, I painted this oil on canvas with my carved and painted the 37 in. x 47 in. frame. Her request was for a serene subject which would include the various earth elements. For example, the burnt remnant of tree branch from a forest fire, in the lower right, represents ‘fire’. I chose this scene of a peaceful place just outside Sun Valley that has a lovely walking trail. Below are several photos showing detail from all around the painting and carved frame. –G.P.L.
